[solved] Pc crashes when I plug in mp4 player

Hello everyone
My pc (windows xp) bluescreens each time I plug in my 4gb mp4player to it. I bought it off ebay but it looks similar to:
http://www.chinavasion.com/product_i...01be209d10c0a8
The firmware on the player is BKSD91N12_32
I have tried installing with no other usb ports connected, in safe mode, and using the provided producttool software but still the happens.
I sent back one mp4player in the thought it may be faulty and today received back a replacement- but alas, the same keeps happening.
I have plugged in other mp3s (2gb) in the past with no problems. I am at a loss to know what to do to fix this, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

Hi cheesehoven,

Have you tried plugging your player into ANOTHER COMPUTER to see what happens?

Also, if you can, DISABLE AUTORUN on your computer just in case there is a autorun.inf file on there that's trying to install something 'nasty' on your computer as soon as your player is plugged into your computer.

The other option is to DELETE all the USB devices from "Device Manager" on your computer, restart your computer and let Windows detect them again to see if that helps.

Let us know of the result.

Thanks for reply Bihn
I should be able to plug into a friends pc in the next few days. I will try the other suggestions also
Thanks

Sucess!
I uninstalled usb drivers as per your instructions and that has resolved the problem. I must admit I was skeptical since the autorun did not work and I have tried so many things before.
Thank you so much Bihn!
regards
Dan
