Hi cjtjamandra,
I haven't seen a firmware update that lets a MP3/MP4 player play Real Media files yet. I know there are players that do play them, but generally it's from the start and not as a result of a firmware update.
What I've found is a lot of the Chinese MP3/MP4 player manufacturers produce only ONE version of the firmware and generally *not* update their firmware after that. I think it's a money making decision. They would prefer to spend the time and money on a NEW player instead rather than work on an existing player.
Hope that helps.
