Help with new PMP firmware
I recently picked up a Black Hawk PMP with 2.8" display and 2 GB internal memory. Can anyone help me locate a firmware update for it? The only information I can find on it is Version V321.5678. The owners manual is not very clear, but it did state that it could support 16 bit games with a firmware update...
Any help will be greatly appreciated. KC6331 |

Re: Help with new PMP firmware
Hello all
I've also the same version and I have tried multiple firmware , but none recognize the PMP. :( my pmp http://proxy.fizwig.com/pmp.jpg If you have a GOOD Firmware please help me. Thank you |
I have one of these and doubt it will ever be playable with 16bit roms. Some 8 bit barely run. Frame rate is terrible.
I'm more interested in knowing if it could be modded or upgraded to the firmware on the 3.0" screen version because those have video input. It has AV IN port but no function!? |
Re: Help with new PMP firmware
The Sunplus chipset in these, while quite versatile, is not powerful enough to play all of the game ROMs. This chipset is really meant for low end digital still cameras. A lot of the game ROMs on this chipset stutter or stall all together. (one of the best portable NES game emulators I've used is the Newsmy MINIALL VX1000). It might also be a symptom of bad coding or poorly optimized code but I think the chipset bandwith is mostly at issue. It's a shame because it would be nice to have a universal game emulator that can fit in your pocket. I haven't tried the Gemei or Smart Q emulators though.
