Default ONDA Driver Issues on a Macintosh

I purchased the ONDA VX747. I use a Macintosh and the unit cannot be found by the Mac. I have tried to load the driver in windows using Parallels but no luck. Any help someone could provide would be appreciated.

I've been struggling with that as well. I asked the sales rep at the OEM (manufacturer) for Onda about this and his response was that their engineer said that the VX7x7 series was compatible with the mac os but he did not know if Mac OS X 10.5 was. I have MAC OS X 10.5 on my Macbook Pro and I was unable to connect the VX747, VX757, and VX767. The sales rep never did furthur clarify this for me. (I have firware V1.31 on the VX747)

I also tried connecting the VX7x7 players to my mac running VMWARE Fusion with a Windows XP virtual machine. I know that when using VMWARE the virual machine "steals" the USB ports from the rest of the Mac but I was still unable to get this to work. This could be an issue with the hardware of the Macintosh or an issue with the low level drivers of the Mac. I haven't tried a dual boot so I don't have any datapoints on that.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make this work please post it here.

I just got one too, and same problems;
well I didn't expect it to resolve itself.

Booting into XP works though.

Anyone know if parallels, or Fusion will allow full use of USB, so OSX can run XP and take control?

Also has anyone tried to get a micro SD, and use it to store files from Mac?

OK, MaximusT has provided some important information.

"Booting into XP works"

If by this you mean booting your Macintosh into XP then this would seem to indicate that the problem is an incompatibility between the MAC OS and either the Ingenic JZ4732 or the VX747's firmware (This also applies to the VX757 and VX767, etc...). This would seem not to be a hardware issue with the Mac's USB host controller. When running Parallels or VMWARE Fusion the MAC OS is still running underneath it all even though the virtual Windows XP machine may be running code native to the Mac's CPU.

Does anyone know if there are any problems with the Ainol MP4 Players and MAC OS?

Yeah, it definitely works with the Mac hardware, when booted as XP.

I managed to get both VMware fusion trial, and Parallels.
But neither can then connect to the VX767

Oddly VMWare sees "DataFab Removable Disk",
but will not mount it.

That is with the same partition running inside OSX, that mount it fine when booted by itself.

Ah ha!
I just updated the firmware to 2.3, and hey presto it now mounts on my MacBook, running Leopard 10.5.4!

That saves me so much time rebooting,
and saves me buying an sd card just to throw files on it.

The VX767 stays locked in USB mode when I unmount,
but a reset fixes it.
Will test various methods to try to resolve that.

Hope others are having success.
