Default Anyone used on of these??

hey guys new here but looks like a great site!

I just purchased on of these mp4 players - http://www.lightinthebox.com/4GB-2-4...57_p20398.html

After many hours or messing around I finally got it to play video. Playing music and viewing pictures was simple but am stuck on using the menus.

I presume many of the china mp4 players are very similar if not the same sort or operation in terms of software and navigation thru the menus.

Now, the poorly translated and printed instruction book doesn't seem to work exactly with this player.

1. - can you create a play list to play on these players?
2 - it says you can enter a sub menu when playing music so you can select shuffle, repeat etc by pressing the 'M' button above the direction keys. However when pressing this it simply takes me back to the players 'root' directory and I have no idea on how to get to this sub menu explained in the documentation.

If anyone has one using similar software could you please help me out and/or give me some pointers for a new user.

Normally things like this are simple for me but it really has me stumped

Hope you can helpp

dont trust the manual that came with the payer, they are usually generic

from what i remember to change any of the manu setting you need to go back to the main menu and enter the "settings" menu, from there you have all your audio settings that you are after

not deal, but this s an old payer now and all players of this type run the same way

BTW dos your player have screws on the side of it???

no playlists either im afraid on these older player

screws,
just wondering as the image on the shop site was of a genuine Teclast player, and if the player you got was exactly like the image then you could have had firmware updates etc from Teclast, but yours is actually different from the image and has screws on the side and as such will not be able to use the firmarwe

cheers

newer players thatv are jsut as cheap as this can now do playlists, just one!! but better than nothing, and also have better video support

well actually the best deals at the moment are on www.mp4nation.com they have their nationite R1 8GB on sale for $60 !!!!!! bargin and runs the new rockchip

nationite R1 8GB for $60 !!!

no firmware updates as yet but we are looking for them as there are several Chinese smaller companies that re-brand this model also

------------------------------------------------------------

well tiny deal currently have 3 new rockchip players that support (new rockchip rx2706) : General features are:

playlist (1 only)
multiple video formats and no lip sync problems)
video resize (no more size restrictions)
music sorting database
stop watch
calender
easier modding and upgrading methods (now can extract firmware for backing up if errors occur)

the problem with the no name generics is firmware and updates, odds are you will only have the firmware that the player gets stuck with at the time of manufacture, meaning you miss out on bug fixes (there are some in tinydeal player), updates, and improvements e.g. you will never see

audio resume functions
video resume
bug fixes

etc ..

i have one of the new players from tinydeal and at the moment i cant recommend it as the earphone jack is faulty, it has REALLY BAD battery, 2hrs video and 5 audio!!!, wont allow me to set date or time, battery on generics is really bad and aways has been, keeps the cost down, but if all this does not bother you and you want tit cheap then no worries, they player video really well but no video bookmarking is a pain.

so tinydeal player at the moment are:

AVOID, this is a copy of the RAmos RM970 and is built by a 3 year old!!!

Member Knob has this one on order so he will give his feedback on this player soon
4 and 8GB model and various colors also, it claims a 3" screen but i am dubious as these seem to be listed as 2.8" elsewhere, also a possibility of updates as several Chinese companies re brand this player also, Knob i am sure will try this out - seems ok.
Cheap nokia style player from tinydeal

this is the player i have, it looks like an Onda VX747 player but it is not and CAN NOT uses onda firmware as it uses a totally different chip to the onda player, many have been fooled by this and i bought mine solely to review and warn people about this player as it is unfair to consumers to be fooled by this, i have contacted tinydeal and asked them to specifically state this player is not an OEM onda, but they have yet to reply. At the moment the player is no good, its been built out of spare parts and has bugs and poor battery life, but again it player video well but lacks features now standard on more up to date rockchip players.

This is another player that LOOKS like another Onda player, this is a copy of the VX757 player, but again, only in looks, hardware is different

------------------------------------------------------------

So there we have it, these players all uses the updated chip from rockchip (RK2706) and are of varying quality, i like tinydeal, they seem very quick on processing orders and sending, as well as answering emails. I have asked them a few questions before i do my review of the player so as to give them a fair chance to respond, but at the end of the day the old adage applies, "you get what you pay for" and as these players are SO cheap you get a player that in general works, is not of fantastic build, lacks battery life and support, but like i say, they are cheap and we need to understand that when we buy

good luck and hope this helps
