How do you alphabetize the music on the player?

I have a question,

Im trying to figure out how to alphabetize my music on my mp3 player. It is one of the touch 4gb ones (mimic of the Ipod touch). It is all just listed as I dragged it into the folder. Is this something I can do on the player? or is it something that I have to do in the file on my computer.

Thanks!

what you need to do is a little bit of a apain but it starts in windows

get to the list of songs you want to drag to the player
create a folder on the player to accept them
now in windows organise the files alphabetically
select all the files so all are highlighted
click on the FIRST one in the list and drag them to the folder you created on the player

basically windows will start copying in order from the file your mouse actually hits, so in this case you have already organised your files and clicked the top one so windows will copy in order from that point on

so what you are saying is ..

I have to delete everything that I had already put on and then put the songs back on after I alphabetize them on my computer?

sound like a workaround, not like a solution for the problem ;)

but i have to admit, i don't have a better answer neither ...

Use the freeware "Reorganize!" from http://www.oliver-frietsch.de/index.php?lng=en or go directly: http://www.oliver-frietsch.de/reorganize/?lng=en

Reorganize! works without deleting the transfered files - if your player will be supported by Reorganize!

thanks, at least for me, it worked out perfectly!

i guess "Reorganize!" will work for every player which appears as a removable device:

Quote:

If the player appears on your PC as an ordinary drive, there may be a solution: try ReOrganize!.
The only important thing is the way you configure Reorganize!
The first time I tried the program, i chose "The player sorts 'chronological' " instead of 'FAT'.

Thanks again,
samson
