(Noob question series 2) Display
 

In my real and expensive Ipod nano (the sound quality wasnt really that much better than my clone though), the display went dim if i dont bother with it for a while (but it still plays the song), is there such features in the mp4 clone? (Me2 mp4 player) the reason is that the display is really bright and it waste a lot of energy when i dont need it while putting it in my pocket to listen to my mp3. for some reason i cant find this, is there something i can do about this? thanks

PS. Is that just me because my mp4 player would always produce some very weak static sound when its on, its not really a big deal but would be better if its gone, thanks

Try a different set of earphones, more expensive one if you can to see if that removes the static noise.

In all my MPx players I have, there is the option to turn off the dislay after some time of inactivity (ie: while it's playing the screen will switch off after sometime). The setting might be different in your player so go to the [Setup] menu in your player then tell me what options you see.

Nevermind, my friend told me he tries that feature already, but this particular player just wouldnt turn off the display, i guess i just have to live with this. According to my friend, i should set the black to 30, but then it still didnt work, wouldnt that be a glitch to my firmware? I am not complaining though since i get it for free.

talking about that static sound, did you try the freezing process to improve the player like the other poster has claimed? I really doubt that would work since this is the only source i heard this from.

There should be also be a "darkle" item as well in the main menu. You will have to also setup that as well.

Also, you have to set a TIME in your Clock on your player for it to work.

Have a look at this Knowledge Base here --> How to: Set sleep and power off settings.

I wrote for the older players, but it should work for your player as well. Give it a go and let me know.

Whoa - that was a long thread and quite interesting :)

I suppose there are any number of theories why the frozen mp4 player might sound better than the warm one. Most switching power supplies are susceptible to temperature changes that can vary the switching frequency. Changes in switching frequency could be noticable in the audio...just one guess out of many.
