Default [solved] MP4 player issues with Windows Explorer

I have a problem with my mp4 player (Aigo mp e235)
Everytime i plug in the usb cable, all windows explorer windows (not to be confused with the internet explorer) that i have open freeze after about 20 seconds after i have plugged it in, and i have to shut them down in task manager.

This is a recent problem and it never used to happen before. It is only folders in c: drive and my mp4 drives that are effected as far as i know

here are some pic showing u wats happening

Click the image to open in full size.

Click the image to open in full size.

Stupid adds are in the way, Im sure u can work out which 1's r which, click to enlarge

Currently i am using 7-zip to move about my files as a tempory solution which is kinda of annoying to use all the time.

Any suggestions or queries are welcome.

Thanks

Hi connors,

First thing is to DISABLE auto run for that drive. It has been known that some players come with viruses on them and in the autorun.inf file, it will execute as soon as your player is plugged into your computer if you have autorun enabled for that drive. Not saying that you may have a virus, but it's good to disable it just in case.

I've never known Windows Explorer to crash when you plug a MPx player into a computer so here's a few things to try to get down to the root of the cause:

1. Try using ANOTHER USB CABLE instead and see if that helps. Faulty USB cables can cause Windows to not detect your player properly.

2. Try connecting to ANOTHER COMPUTER as well to see if that also has the same problem (disable autorun for that drive on that computer too just in case).

3. Backup everything you can from your player and FORMAT it to see if that helps solve the problem.

Let me know what the result is after you've tried those.

Hi connors,

Thanks for letting us know.
That's a strange problem that it 'suddenly' started to work though.

I would probably consider looking at replacing the USB cable if it happens again.
