Is there a reason why you want to upgrade your firmware? Is it not working righ or seem buggy or something?
Does your player have any kind of brand name on it, the box it came in, or the user manual? Have you tried asking the seller about this?
Do you know what chipset is used in the player?
If your's is an unbranded no-name player (or public brand player as they are called in China) you would be better off not doing anything to it unless there is a real reason to upgrade is like it is buggy or something.
