Default Reformat Rockchip player??

Hi...I Purchased a 4gb 2.8'' mp4 player (with minisd slot) off of ebay......and I believe it is a 2gb hacked to look like a 4gb....as soon a I tried to put more than 1.81gb on it, it locks up and I have to reset player (tried several times) ...And after I removed all the files off of player it still showed 2gb of the 4gb still being used....Is it ok to reformat this player or will I lose the 60mb of hidden files that run the player if I reformat?
Player has rockchip version 000.000.6 (2008-03-21)...thanks
Ps-if I can reformat ...can I just use windows xp to do it (player plays avi files).....thanks

rockchips are not really hacked, its actions based players that are

use windows to reformat the player, and also check for memory errors, this may actually be a memory problem

there has never been a case of hacked rockchip memory, nearly but not to my knowledge

if the problem persists then contact the seller for replacement as it is mmore likely to be a defective player than haked memory

K.....Thanks!....I will try to reformat using windows.....did try error checking a couple of times already with no change....any other suggestions.....???
I first noticed a problem when attempting to transfer files and got "specific pathway not found" error over and over...and locked up player each time....returning Mp4 is not really an option as cost to ship back would cost half as much as The player!

I did not get any errors transferring files on ...but I made sure I didn't go over 1.8GB.....is there anyway to get this rockchip to show its true values??(avi player)

Hi sj2moncton,

Try filling up your player completely and see if you can play all the files on there without error.

So what is the TOTAL size of your player again after the format?

After reformatting 4gb empty player states ...used space 1.83gb.. Free space 1.88gb....thats with nothing on it..immediately after reformat....used space Hack?
It will still only play videos (less than the 1.88 ) then everything added is corrupted
