Hi masterbusiness,

Has the Radio function ever worked? Generally MPx players need to have a radio receiver chip installed on the player for the Radio Function to work. So, even though the menu for "Radio" is there, if you don't have the chip installed on your player, it will not work.

No, never. There is the option "Radio", but when i choose it, turns off and turns on. I think this is the problem.

Send it back is expensive (i'm from Brazil - Rio and i bought in China - Deal Extreme)

What i do friend?

open a ticket with dealextreme, they are very good at sorting problems and are always willing to help in some way, they will refund the cairrage back in some cases, open a support ticket with them and see what is the best thing to do, i had defect stuff from them before and they just sent replacement and said not to bother sending back, also they have paid me back delivery cost as well, so speak to them, they are good

masterbusiness,

Can you send us a link to your player? I want to check on the description of the player that it does have a radio function. If the product saids it should, then it should and it might just be a mistake in their manufacturing that they forgot to put in the FM transmitter chip on your player. However, it it doesn't say on the product page that your player has FM Radio, then it would be a mistake in their firmware and they should have removed the Radio option from your player's menu.

The link: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9372

I opened and the told me to send it back that they will send me a new one and pay $10 to shipping costs, but sending will cost to me $20, i don't know if is better to me 'cause is almost the value of the MP4 ($24,60)

Do you think it's better send it back or try fix it here, the cost to fix is between $20 - $40

The link you sent me said that it has "FM Radio" so it should have it.

So it seems it's a problem with the player.

You should COMPLAIN to them about this. They should pay for you to send it back though.

Did they suggest anything that you can do to try to fix the problem?

Question also, did you use the original earphones that come with your player?

Also, have you tried FORMATTING your player? First find out what file system it is using in Windows (whether it's FAT or FAT32) and FORMAT it. Most likely, it's in FAT.

Try formatting to see if that helps.

They told me they pay $10 to cover the cost i'll have with the shipment. But it'll cost me a double ($20)

They also told that i could try fix it here, but the cost to fix is between $20 and $40.

Yes, i used the original phones;

Yes i formatted but the problem is still there.

I don't know what i do because send it back and fix it is pratically the same, the little diference is the time they spend to send a new one

I don't know how to proceed, i'm afraid to spend money sending back and the problem happens again.

Tell them about it and what about asking them for a PARTIAL REFUND?

Did you pay it for it using PayPal?
If you did, then you can file a dispute complaint about getting a product that wasn't as advertised.

Yes, i paid using Paypal; I won't send it back, is not better to me. Actually i'd like at least a half of my money back.

I'll try talk to them about a parcial refund, that's a good idea. I don't know if they will accept this without sending the product back.
