Rockchip Camera mp4player - gif function?

Hey guys,

i bought a rockchip mp4 player (camera, 2,8", touchscreen, 4gb) last week.
In the manual AND in the offer on ebay it says "supports picture browse in the formats of JPEG, gif and BMP".

But it actually doesnt. The only picture files i can open are jpeg.

Is there a way to fix it?

Hi John,

Do you have the link to your player you bought?

I know with Rockchip players, you need to have a specific resolution for your Videos, I'm thinking, it's the same for your pictures as well then if it doesn't access .gif or .bmp.

can you link us th layer please

and do ot take too much notice of what the specs say on the ebay page, amny a time its totally wrong as they copy and paste descriptions to other players with no care if they are right or wrong, they amny a time do not even know what they are selling

@makd: But it is even stated in the user manual that it can view gifs.

If i go to the gif folder through the image browser there is not a single file. If i go there through the explorer the files are shown but with a "dat" symbol. (You know those empty sheets of paper)

again, do not even listen to the manual, these ceap players are sent with things that may have nothing to do with the player, its ust the way they are i am afraid

manual is usually wrong
descriptions are usually wrong

these are cheap players im afraid and little care is gei=ven by either the factory or the seller

as far as i can remember these types of players can only view jpg images and that is all, sorry
