sorry but a firmware update will not fix this and as there are so many different types of these made by many different factories there is no way to be sure a firmware will work on your player

uploading a wri=ong firmware can break the player and we may not be able to fix it

all these types of clones are similar, using similar firmware so an update will not help in this situation

also these players are not known for excellent sound quality, how bad is it, are your files encoded high enough for good sound

yeah I agree...these clones are not known for good sound quality. The components used are mostly of dubious quality.

Don't update the firmware, you'll end up with a good for nothing brick.

read my review...

i reviewed that same player based on Sigma chip. It's great, with a working scroll wheel but don't get your hopes up. Mine has ok sound quality, but FM suffers a lot of inteference due to the scroll wheel. And the battery power is rather pathetic, I think it's mostly cause of the scroll wheel eating up the charge.

but the decision is up to you to buy it or not

I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but in the future people should stay away from the iPod Nano Clones. There are some great Chinese brand name MP4 Players like Onda, Meizu, Teclast, Newsmy, and more. It comes down to the old saying - you get what you pay for.

That player is based on the same chips and firmware you have already, so it will be no different
99% of all the nano clones are based on the same actions chipsets, or one from actions at least and as such are cheap and as has been explained, not great on sound quality. If you want sound quality you are going to have to pay that bit extra

if you still want cheap but much better sound quality then go for a player with the new rockchip and PlayFX sound enhancements, good sound quality for cheap price, but the cheap players based on these chips are proving a little unreliable, branded players based on the same chip are very reliable though but are more expensive

as david99 said, you really do get what you pay for, cant buy a gold ring for peanuts
