Can't select tracks on ACU7515 based player...help!

Hi folks,

Just got my second MP4 player (the first one, amazingly, was stolen). This one seems to have a really irritating bug - which I've not managed to find any description of elsewhere on the forum...

It's this player, and while I can skip though tracks one at a time (it always starts up on the same track) - and if I organise them into folders it'll still skip though them in order (or on random), but I can't go into the 'Local Folder' menu and pick a track.

As soon as I do it returns me to the same track that was selected before.

Any ideas? Unless I have to I don't want to reinstall the firmware, 'cos I'm a mac user - and not one of those shiny new macs that run windows too, oh no. This is a QEMU and dig out my old copy of Win98 job (hence unwillingness to do so).

Any help'd be great!
