Default Upgrade fails. MP4 can be fixed with the old firmware?

Hello guys,
I have a Teac MP-600 mp4 player and 3 firmware version which are compatible with it (I have checked all). Now I want to make some experiments. I mean, a want to try for example to put a firmware from TL-C260 (both are using the same Rock chip RK2608A).
Now my question: in case something is going wrong and my player will die, I still can use one of my old firmware to reanimate it, or my player will be dead forever?
Thanks a lot!

If you have a working firmware then you should be able to recover it.
Be prepared to open up the player and go through the hard recovery procedure (not for the faint hearted!), depends on how skillful you are really.

An easier (and better) alternative would be to stick with the working Teac firmware and just Mod it using the images from the Teclast firmware. That would be much safer, and remember that the TL-c260 probably would not work anyway.

hope this helps
cheers knob

If you flash the c260 firmware, you may need to do this to recover your player:-

If you are not sure, then better to Mod the TEAC firmware instead.
