there is no hidden partition on the ingenics based player but you can customise the firmware as it is really easy, pop over to mp4nation and search for the tool to do the job in the onda forum, the firmare file is called an HXF file and there are tools to rip this apart an reveal all the image for you to replace and thn load back onto the player

so easy... that's fine. ok, some of troubles solved. and that's only beginnin' :)
the things really madden me:
-uncustomizable equalizer
-txt-reader without any advanced settings
-no support of id3-lirycs
-uninformative "playing music" screen
-and listing keys (vol up, vol down) are... unlogicall. left scrolls down, right - up
-with such powerfull soc there's no dsp (like stereobase manipulations)
-fm list without channel-names
-font! i think times new roman is not a good choice

themes are just pictures and there's no problems with them. but is there solutions for other problems?

the problem is that chinachips that provide the solution firmware for this chip have been really bad in providing updates to the source, this is why onda and others are now not using this chip and are going over to rockchip processor instead and dumping ingenics/chiachip solution

all your complaints are common about these players using this chip

ok... i think topic might be closed :(

A lot of the code is open-source, and Rockbox project is working on it.

The device can run Linux!
