[solved] Touch screen calibration never end
16GB MP3 MP4 MP5 RMVB AVI Player/3.0" Touch/8GB TF Slot
I have bought an MP5 player online but the original seller disappeared from ebay. Now, the touchscreen is not working. I tried the screen calibration tool but never see the OK button. I have 16GB: Product Name: RK27SDK Major Version ID: 1.2 Hardware ID: 080422 I found the firmware online at http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...-pm-df933.html How do I bypass screen calibration and get MP5 started? Amy |
have you tried the reset button and are you sure you are hitting the calibration points exactly right or it will keep asking to do it, what about connecting to the pc, does the player connect alright and when you disconnect from the PC using SAFE DISCONNECT what screen does the player go to

what happens on the player after safe disconnect, dose the player go direst to calibration screen or battery charge screen
|
The player go directly to calibration screen after safely disconnected.
Does anybody have firmware that has screen calibrated and works fine? |
there are firmwares for this sryle player buy no definayete that they will work for your particular version as they are often different
|
Could you tell me more: where can I find those firmwares? Thanks.

hi amyjohnson
Have you made a backup of the firmware on your player now? If you are thinking of trying another firmware, do make a backup first just to be on the safe side. |
look in the downloads section under rockchip firmwares you will see firmwares and images withthem to match against
with yours being 16gb though i have doubts that they will work do you know how to access the hidden partition to back up the firmware |
For calibration always use a stylus because the screen isn't made for fingers
|
I did use a stylus. But still the calibration screen never end. Why?
|
Here are 3 firmwares which are from the same type of player as yours, no guarantees they will work any better though, you may have a hardware problem, a lot of these players arn't very well made i'm afraid. :(

Touchscreen conductive strip has become loose or touchscreen is damaged. Hardware problem for sure, and not really worth fixing.

Hi everybody, thank you all! After re-installed firmwares and tried different ones many times, I suddenly found a post mentioning that Silicone case is a bad one for MP5. I used Silicone case, but one day it seemed pretty wet. Finally I figured out that it is caused by Silicone case which makes the MP5 very wet during playing. This makes the touch screen not working at all. After these days, I have stopped using Silicone case and let it dry for a few days. Now it works!
Amazing.... |
Thanks for letting us know, and glad your player works again. :D
Just use a protective foil for your touchscreen and ditch the case. |
Hi amyjohnson,
Thanks for taking the time to post to say you have resolved your issue. It's a good thing you did as I didn't know that and will definitely keep it in mind. |
