8GB player now showing 1GB memory
After I did a lot of mess for the last 2 weeks, finally I did recovered my 8GB Glacier mp3 player with this firmware “LG_LZY_QY-066FV0_TFT70023_2091_V9.1.52_20071028”
But now showing just 1GB memory Any help please |
Re: I did a lot of mess
What's the part# of the flash chip?
8Gb = 1GByte |

the chip which I have doesn't show anything writing on it ! |
8 GigaBITS (mentioned at the end of the flash chip's ID number) = 1 GigaBYTE. Because 1 Byte = 8 Bits. So the player was probably hacked to show 8 GigaBytes of storage while it only has 1GB.
The flash chip is the rectangular (and usually largest) chip on your player. |
Re: I did a lot of mess
Do you think that happened because the wrong firmware has been installed?
I remember when I first got it I could fit in more than 1GB data (definitely not 8GB ) And after the mess which I have done, being just 1 GB |
Re: I did a lot of mess
But are you sure that data hasn't become corrupted?
> the chip which I have doesn't show anything writing on it ! The manufacturer probably knows that you can see the real capacity by opening it up and reading the part#, so they polished it off :( Try making an image with s1clone. It will detect the manufacturer and real size of the flash. |

Hi petros0,
Where did you buy it from? Was a proper Glacier or a Glacier CLONE? |
