It appears to be an Actions-based player but the firmware on those is stored separately and not in U disk area.

Open it up, post board ID and CPU.

Hi 'Lolita',
Thanks for the quick reponse and advice.
I have undone the screws and got the two silver cover plates off but I cannot seem to push the inside(hardware) out of the casing....I'm affraid of being too forcefull and break the board or other bits....?
I have a question (possibly a stupid one)though....if the firmware files are not on the U disk and the U disk is where the music files and video files are stored and I deleted music and video files how could I have damaged something not on the U disk...if that's the case .
When I try to access the Record folder I have a message that the folder is corrupted and access not permitted....
Help Please!!

Hi Lolita,
I seemed to have sorted out my problem.
After assuming that I had not damaged anything other than the disk where the music flies etc. are stored I decided to scan for any errors on the disk etc. any fix errors--- deleted all files on the disk and I was then able to copy over music files etc.to the disk and all seems fine now.
Many thanks for the help.
