How can I write custom progs for my RK27SDK mp5 player?
I searched RK27SDK and didn't find what I was looking for. I'm new to this "mod/hack my rockchip mp3 player scene," so forgive my ignorance. But I come here with a vision of what I want to do, I just don't know how to get there. Hopefully you can help me on my journey! :)
Here's the scoop: 1. Bought this mp5 player from ebay, its a 16gb touchscreen vid/mp3 player: http://tinyurl.com/88m25j 2. I go to settings->system information and I see this: Manufacturer: blank Product name: RK27SDK Major version ID: 1.2 Hardware ID: 080422 3. I want to write my own programs for this great piece of hardware. 4. When I plug it in via USB to my windows computer it shows two removable drives, one which is the root of the player where i can drag and drop things, the other which when I click on it says insert a disc.. in other words it won't let me explore it. I'd like to do things like have a paint program, and do other cool things with the touchscreen. I also wouldn't mind re-designing the ugly and inefficient menu and GUI. The buttons are too small, I'd like to program a different operating system. So I've stumbled upon this site and similar ones. It seems to me that changing your firmware is "all the buzz." All I want to do is be able to program this handy little device to my heart's content. So what do I need to do to start doing this. Maybe I can compile progs in c++ for it...? Do I need to change my firmware to do this? Why do people change their firmware anyways...? If it does something better than what it does currently.. sure I'd like too. I'd appreciate if someone could clue me in on some of concerns and tell me how to begin to be able to write programs for this mp5 player. -thanks for reading |
Sorry but there are no tools (yet) to add or create programs to this player.
You can mod it, to change it's look, but you need to make a back up copy of the firmware first and keep it safe:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/firmware-...s-vt10856.html But don't hurry to play, learn more about your player first, before you start theming, so you don't have problems or brick it. Plenty of information on this forum. |
Re: How can I write custom progs for my RK27SDK mp5 player?
Thanks for the help and link! :)
Yeah.. s1fwx prog didn't work with my player so I did the rkusb.tag thing, worked great. Now I have a bunch of files I don't know what to do with. So, so more questions or advice for u... Theming wasn't ever a thing I really wanted to do, I can live with some not so pretty graphics. Its the UI etc.. that I don't like. Mine doesn't play flv vids and other things that it should either. I wouldn't mind play wma and other files other than mp3 as well. Also I have NO slideshow feature! :( The pic loading is SUPER slow. What I'm really interested in cloning my player then to one that can do these things. I've seen some pics of ONDA and other players. I LIKE THEM! :) So any recommendations on what I can clone my player too that can add this vid and music functionality and slideshow functionality. You know what I have, I gave you a link with pictures and model number.. Better yet, I read about how cloning is only possible with the same hardware etc.. Tell me how I can look for firmware of other players and determine if it will be compatible with my device. That way I can just give myself advice to which players I should clone my device too... Thanks again http://tzfiles.com/guest_images/g4/1...qsnq5800_1.JPG |

Quote:
The firmware you have may be the only one that will work with your player, .wma audio should play if it is not infected with DRM. Youtube .flv's should play too, but not every time, these players can be a bit picky. |

I've been to sites like these:
http://s1fw.com/Rock-Chip/index.html I"ve seen this: http://s1mp3.de/tools.s1clone.html I like the: onda teclast m55 or nationite s:flo player I have: touchscreen, vid playback, pic playback, music playback, game playback That seems to be everything these other players support also. What I'm asking here is how can I really determine if these other player's firmware will be compatible with mine. Do I need to open up my player and find a number? How do I check for "hardware compatiblitiy"? Let's say I found a player that is "compatible" (even though I don't know what that means yet..) Is it simply a matter of copying that firmware where mine is and walla! OR: Do I need to use clone prog... what exactly does it do anyways... |
