USB drivers for JZ4740 USB Boot Device ?
I recently purchased a Mp5 player with Tv-out, which I assumed was a 27xx RockChip, but when I tired to extract the firmware using rkusb.tag, nothing happened. I then carefully opened up the player and found that it had an Ingenic JZ47xx chip. I believe this is a clone of the Onda VX767.
In appearance, it is exactly the same as "Coversion Free 3" 16:9 QVGA 8GB MP4 MP3 MP5 Player LA2-8R" available on TinyDeal. If I hold the "menu" button, before connecting the USB cable to the PC, I get a WinXP message that asks for drivers for the JZ4740 USB Boot device. Does anyone know where such drivers can be found ? I was not able to find any via a google search. If any one has a .hxf firmware file for Onda VX767 clone, could you please upload a copy. ... Many thanks |
Re: USB drivers for JZ4740 USB Boot Device ?
Re the USB driver, I found some additional info at the Ingenic's web-site.
The Ingenic's web page in the development section for JZ4740, has downloads for USB Boot tool, but it looks like you need to develop your own drivers ? http://www.ingenic.cn/eng/productSer...qContents.aspx My "Conversion Free-3" TFT 16:9 screen" mp5 player with TV-out, has an Ingenic JZ4725 CPU chip, and an overview of the JZ47xx chip is shown here... file:///D:/Current%20MP5%20Player/JZ47xx%20html-Specs/JZ4740-4720.htm Total Chips in MP5 player ================== CPU: Ingenic JZ4725 Flash Memory: Two Samsung 4GB chips; K9LBG08UOM FM Radio: SP3767AHN TV Encoder: Chrontel CH7024B-DF Audio Amp 1watt: LM4890 Unidentified: 48LCAM10A1 ? (anyone know what this chip is for ?) The Chipgenius v2.64 tool reports the following info for this player: ================================================ Device Name: ++[E:][G:]+USB Mass Storage Device(Ingenic JzSOC USB-DISK USB Device)(Ingenic Jz... PnP Device ID: VID = 0525 PID = A4A5 Serial Number: 323820474077 Revision: 0100/0100 Device Type: Standard USB device - USB2.0 Full-Speed (USB1.1) Chip Vendor: (No match record) Chip Part-Number: (No match record) Product Vendor: Ingenic Product Model: JzSOC USB-DISK Tools on Web: (N/A) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The firmware is Version 1.3.0.12 The toolbox has two options regarding the firmware: Recover System and Updating. Does anyone know how the "Recover System" option works for this Ingenic player? Does it have a copy of the compressed firmware on-board and makes a recover from that file, or do you need a backup copy of the firmware? ...thanks for any additional info p.s. If anyone is interested, I can post a review of this player with some pics. For the cost of ~$40US, it is actually quite a nice player. |
I got some software from mydigit.cn only need to know is how we can recover or backup are original firmware.
BTW, i can't download some firmware posted at mydigit.cn by member because i don't have enough points. @autofils we have same processor and firmware version the only difference is the player and function. Mine is 4gb player same with this but ingenic chips. http://www.sinykon.com/products_info.asp?id=1037 |
Re: USB drivers for JZ4740 USB Boot Device ?
Autofils,
I notice that your serial number is the same as mine. I have an 8 gig version of your player. Is this bad news ? I notice also that your firmware version is one higher than my V1.3.0.11. I just received the player on February 19, 2009 and the player outputs B/W to the TVOUT. Can I somehow get the firmware ?? I sent you a private message but I am new o this site and don't know if I did it correctly. Thanks, margatejack |
phew!!
My player is bricked!! But after many hours of searching and experiment ive successfully recover. NOW: Searching for posible working firmware or manual editing of images or themes. |
Re: USB drivers for JZ4740 USB Boot Device ?
Margatejack,
I have not found any way to extract the firmware of my Ingenics mp5 player, so I don't have the 1.3.0.12 firmware. ( I also sent you an email reply to your other queries) t68kv, Can you share the info on how you were able to recover your "bricked" player...thanks Is it a RockChip or Ingenics cpu? |
i used usbboottool from mydigit.cn and a firmware posted by a member there. Phew ive create 3 account just to download those file. Its hard that i can't understand chinese website hehe. Google translation is not enough for me to understand all in and outs of mydigit.cn or else weve already modifying are firms.
I used this firmware to recover my bricked player. http://bbs.mydigit.cn/read.php?tid=81605 by flashing using usbboottool "search google" because the player he posted is somehow same with me. I try to flash firmwares from onda but not successful. "Update.bin" almost 30mb + BTW, my chips is an ingenic. I email the person on mydigit.cn and so far still waiting for reply. I wanna ask how he backup the firmwares and modify them but one thing for sure. Modifying theme with this format is posible because of this link. I will create another account to download this and try it. After one day of buying this player i became addict and lack of sleep :( http://bbs.mydigit.cn/read.php?tid=82371&fpage=5 @autofils post the exact image of your player. i post mine later. |

I found this link on mydigit.cn that is very similar to my mp5 player. The photo shown in the first post is the same as my mp5. It quotes the firmware as "V1.3.0.11"; mine is 1.3.0.12. http://72.14.205.132/translate_c?hl=...ROB7O61I1JjKgQ I was not able to download the files. I also found a reference to the JZ4725 data sheet, for those that want to know more about it's capabilities.. http://translate.google.com/translat...nics%26hl%3Den And finally I found a reference to JZ4725 USB tool, "JZ47xxv-USBbootTool V2.2-081011.rar", but I had no luck to find a download site. I suspect this is needed to get to the hidden firmware partition Perhaps you will have better luck on downloading it.. A couple of questions for you about the firmware file that you used... 1. Was it a compressed file .HXF file? If so, do you have a program to de-compress the .HXF file to examine the firnware? 2. Was there any files (usb.cfg or other) related to the hidden firmware partition? |
Re: USB drivers for JZ4740 USB Boot Device ?
@autophils
Is your mp5 player touchscreen? and about tv-out function? is it working? I don't think my firmware support .hxf or onda flasher is not compatible with my player. ONDA flash provided here by other members and on mp4nation does not detect my player. My player uses .bin file. ONDA uses update.bin on other players. But when i flash them my player become brick. Need to study more about that flash firmware. BTW, you don't need any luck on downloading files from mydigit.cn you just need to register to be able to download file "Limited points for downloading some dedicated file" If you want to try flashing your firmware using ingenics "use at your own risk" and " you need to be brave enough and put your player to the black side" hehe. Here's my luck :) JZ47xxv-USBbootTool V2.2-081011 http://www.4shared.com/file/91345659...22-081011.html |
Chinachip4725
Very interesting. I see I'm rather late to the game (I only got interested in jz4725 players this week): these KNC M-700 clones (with their distinctive red, orange or blue strips) are now advertised as Chinachip4725 solution:
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/22...er_M_700_.html Where did you get your jz4725s from? |
