GPX MW3836 firmware won't update.

The updater finds the player, identifies the current version as 01.02.0C (07/03/24) and the upgrade version as 01.04.02 (06/05/31)

I click Yes and it says Device not found. WTF? It just found the device because it read the existing firmware version from it.

From the info in facDll.dll version 1.10.27.0 this player uses the ALi M566 chip. That and several other files are temporarily created while the updater is running.

I've tried on Vista Ultimate and XP Pro. I hope I won't have to bodge a junk PC together and put Win98 on it then get the Win98 drivers for this player just to update its firmware.

Do not upgrade firmware if player already works.

Especially with ALi device, recovery procedure is not well-known nor are the details of firmware.
