If the player works OK, then DON'T upgrade anything
You could brick your player if done incorrectly or with wrong firmware...

Do that ONLY if the player malfunctions, or if it dies suddendly.

Hmmm, these are good reasons to try upgrading, but still...

All players from any type currently support at least playlists. And for the sound problem, ¿can you contact the seller and inquire for that? maybe you got a defective unit... If you really want to search for firmware (on your own risk), you need to open the player and find the board ID, a white text written somewhere in it. But you first need to take into account warranty issues and stuff, if you open it you could lose your warranty.

does not do playlists at all .. no paylists, can not read any type of playlist

its is a simple mp player with limited functions and NO CHANCE of any update EVER

your player can not be updated
even if you find a firmware from same look player DO NOT UPDATE

if you want extra functions but a good player, it will cost money for a big function player

sorry, but do not mess with the player or you will, will, definitely break it
