Another "Help to identify my player" topic

OK, here is the story. Bought it from Ebay as 8GB player + FM+Video+EBook+lots of stuff.

It came with a CD with some soft and a "newer" firmware. I was stupid enough to flash the memory, and apparently player went dead. I opened it, and based on the chips with AK1025 mark, I used 9.1.52 firmware. After some dancing around, player is alive again.

However, here are some issues.

First, it's based on infamous HY27UU08AG5A chip, so it turned to be only 2GB after re-formatting.
Well, whatever. What else one would expect for $20?

The main issue bothering me is that the with new firmware all the stuff on the screen is rotated 90[sup:3cf684db33]o[/sup:3cf684db33], and it's not very funny to navigate the menus.

Can anybody suggest firmware version or upload it from the similar player?

Thanks!

Is K9129H2V2M the only identifiable part number on the board? Try checking the other side.

Also, what is the part number of the display?

The firmware you currently have is for 128x160 display, while you need a 160x128.

A firmware from a "similar player" may NOT work.

I was not able to locate any number on display - I checked carefully from all sides, none :(

Also see the part numbers on the display cable itself, and if you can, check the back.

If you really cannot find part number, then link to the firmware that you used to get the player working (but with sideways orientation). I will be able to determine display controller from that, which is good enough to find a match.

I checked one more time. I can't really see the back of LCD, since it's mounted in the plastic. On the cable in the middle there is only number 1.77 (except connectors numbers from c1 through c16)

Also, about the firmware - I gave the link above, anyways, it was this one:

Thanks a lot!

Also, here is what the player tells about the firmware:
LSD_91N18V_A1
2007-10-10
9.1.52
2005-01-09

did you find the right firmware for your player? I have the exact same one..

let me know which firmware you used?

Thanks
Jason

Nope. Still using same menus rotated 90-degree clockwise :(
BTW, do you have the original firmware, so I could use it?
I am thinking about returning to the older one - it had kinda crappy graphics, but at least it was not rotated.

No. Keep using rotated version. Do you have a similar player?

miketheman 12th Apr 2009 4:51 am

yes i have the exact same problem. That was the same firmware i used also. The thing works ok but i wish i could get the screen to turn the right way. If you ever find the right one let me know as i will do the same for you. Thanks a lot.
