i have 2gb space on it

sorry, as this is a no brand player running the older rockchip 26 series there are no updates at all

as your player has a name on it (just a name ) then try and contact the company, if it exists, but i am 99.9999% sure they will not have anything ofr you at all

im afraid i would stop thinking about updating as there wont be anything for you, i know the manual may say about updating but the manuals shipped with these players are generic and all say the same thing

anyway

welcome to the forums

Open it up and look at the chip...

no need to open the player, you can tell by the UI that it is an older 26 series, no need to be any more specific than that

i assume the player is working fine, if so dont mess with updates and you may break the player

i contacted the brand and they told me there is a "2608a" in there, and they will send me the CD again for the firmware update,
thanks 4 held (:

i would not use the firmware on the CD TBH

many a time the CD is generic, meaning shipped with all sorts of player and we have had so many people update firmware from supplied CD only to find it was wrong and the player died

i cant see there being anyhting but the original firmware on the disk, updates for these cheap brands like this are very rare to non-existent

personally i would not do it but i will leave that to you

Are you sure? Chinese sometimes imitate the names of big brand companies. The big name in Germany for satellite receivers is Technisat, I got one in my PC now, a Skystar2, it's made in germany, the best PC satellite card!

Re: How To> Find out wich Rockchip?

Even large companies will use lesser-known manufacturers for their devices, so it is not unusual that Telestar uses Rockchip.

Example: Iriver E100 uses ATJ2135.
