Chinese copies of Ipod shuffle II 2Gb, disconnect on USB

Good day. There are some Chinese copies of Ipod shuffle II 2Gb. To play music on there - no problem. All would be good, but is constantly disconnect on USB, and when copying files, and in a simple, if sooner, when the less. Disconnect then connect again to continue the same circle. And for all the players, so it is not in a particular instance. When the autopsy revealed:

Prompt please, what and how it can be cured? In Recovery mode is like when you connect to a USB key with the play / pause. How to extract firmware? Where can I find / search for updates? What tools and software in general, you can work with them? If you need any further details, saying where and what to watch. If you want to be the photo - i'm do it. We are grateful for any assistance.

Have you tried another USB cable instead? I would recommend trying that as there has been various members who have faulty USB cables which causes disconnect problems.

Re: Chinese copies of Ipod shuffle II 2Gb, disconnect on USB

Thank you for your reply. By the way, once wrote: connection player - PC: USB Mini - USB A. I took a few cables and experiment. The most stable connection (no disconnect) was ~ 0.2-meter cable (very short) with a ferrite bead, when connected to USB at the back PC. On the other cables situation worse, where disconnect more / less, where more / less, when you connect the front panel of the situation is even more aggravated. Thus apparently weak point is in connection (cable?). Now the question is: can we improve communication?
a) Program (a new version of firmware)
b) Hardware (change that in the configuration player / cable)
Maybe there are some variation?

Re: Chinese copies of Ipod shuffle II 2Gb, disconnect on USB

I received mine yesterday and had a problem similar to yours. When transfering music to the player using Teracopy (I prefer to use this utility for CRC check up and guarantee a proper transfer), it reported that one of the already copied file was modified by an external application. What first came up to me is that this one was also hacked to appear to have more memory that it really has; I proceeded to open it up to confirm memory part number. Well, it is not hacked.

Now that I am using my job pc everything seams to be ok.

According to my experience using external hard drives is that, they tend to demand higher current from the USB power supply -that's why they have two USB plugs. I know that my home's PC doesn't comply the USb power supply standard, it's an assembled unbranded PC and that my transfers between both -pc and external hard drive- are more susceptible to errors due this issue. This might be happening with this player and despite being USB Ver 1.0 (yes, slowwww transfers!!) it might be demanding too much power. My job's PC source better USB power and hence the transfer is more stable. I'll have to double check at home and use the USB extension that my external hard drive comes with to do it (using both USB plugs).

Have you tried to transfer from other PC?

Regards

Shuffle clone

Hi.

I bought one from ebay and had the same problem.

The cable that came with the player didn't work with the front usb ports (but worked with the back usb ports) and another cable that I already had worked with the frontal ones.

I only discovered because I opened the player, get the memory's serial and google it.

Now I'm adding some useful words to help the other people with the same problem to find..

Our player is a shuffle clone (shuffle II clone, mind you), normally from chinese origin. Not the best start, I know, but almost anything comes from there today. I can't get firmware, or programs to get firmware...

It's a really mp3 player, because don't have a display, just the "wheel" "on" and "off", mini usb & standart phone plug, and that clip thing. lost some time re-assembling because of the spring heheh.

Not even the tools that came with other chinp3 or chinp4 works with them. You can format via explorer (always as FAT, never as FAT32 or NTFS).

Mine came with the following serials k9gag08uom pcbo samsung 918 cshj51pac (the "O" s and "0" may be switched). But I really found because the SH86260U 048UR. Got some wrongs in sh8626ou but found it.

I almost sent it back (too expensive and takes much time). Thanks guys for the help. I hope we can help more people with the same problem..
