DRM protected WMA files - problems playing on my player

I purchased mine on eBay recently. I am a total MP3/MP4 newbe. Never used or owned one before. I want to use it to listen to audiobooks that I can download from our public library. Most of these are DRM-protected WMA files. I am having quite a bit of trouble loading these on my device and getting them to play (or even show up in the menu). Does anyone have any experience with this type of file? Could you send me some URLs to information about this device? I would post a picture, but don't see an 'attach' button. However, I just uploaded a picture to the "Large (1.5 inch plus) colour screen players" gallery here --> http://mympxplayer.org/image-asp730.html.

Description:
Front Side:
MP4
Digital Player

Back Side:
SK0807118
4GBFM

Firmware Version:
MP3 PLAYER
LSD_91N18V_A2
2008-04-09
9.1.52
2005-01-09

Thanks for any assistance.

Roy

Does not support WMADRM. I recommend you remove the DRM from the files anyway.

Hi rkesmodel,

Can your player play .MP3 files ok? What about vidoes, do they play fine? If they do, then I would say that the DRM protection on the WMA files is what's making it not playable on your player. If you can, try to find a software package to remove the DRM protection on the WMA file and then hopefully that should play properly.

Let us know if that works or not.

Thanks for the quick reply. How do I do that? Please be a specific as possible. 1-2-3 steps. Remember, I know nothing about these devices.

Thanks, again.

Don't know. Where can I find free test files? While I am a neophyte to these devices, I have worked with computers and electronics for years. I have noticed specific types (rockchip) mentioned on this site. How do I find out which 'family' mine falls within. I could then do my own research.

I must say this one seems to have a very 'cheesey' menu interface.

Thanks.

Yours is based on the very popular Actions chipset.

Has almost everything you need to know about these types of players.

Thanks! Mine looks just like the Freedata device. Now I have a path to follow.
