Default Reformat, or did I?

I found this amazing website and didn't have to throw my e-bay purchase in the can quite yet (4 gig looking nano thingie). Reformated it and didn't see a drop in memory. It says it has 7.6 gigs...wierd. Fixed my audio files, now they will play. Still cannot view pictures or video, files corupt. Did I do the reformat wrong, need different firmware or am I still too new to tell? Need a helping hand. Much appriciated!

Open it and read part# of NAND flash to confirm the true capacity.

I checked the back of the chips...but I am not sure, nothing clearly says __GB to me. Here are the numbers:

Big Chip--643 samsung K9LAG08U0A-PCB0 FEJ652AA

Middle Chip--AK 1025 81016AB 21G

Little Chip--SP 3767AHN 08FT04

I also looked up chipgenius but am having a hard time finding it in English. Thank you so much for your help!

Your flash is 16Gb or 2GB.

Cool, thank you! Now trying to reformat...Memory is FAT32, and I want to reformat to FAT. Tried with windows, no FAT option (32 or ex) and I downloaded HP reformat tool, and it doesn't have FAT option, just 32 or NTFS. Help?

See PROCEDURE OF REMOVE MEMORY HACK thread at top of the board for detail.

You need to use MP3 Player Utility to do formatting.

I have downloaded several conversion programs but the disk tool has been removed. Tried the HP program (recomended in another thread) too and I cannot figure out how to use it. Where can I find a conversion or a stand alone program that actually contains the disk tool? What would it look like or what would it be listed as when I do find it?
