TA5-16R update news

Hi All

I now have a chance to post again as i just moved overseas.
Now i am down under, closer to the people who sell us these rip offs. :x

Anyway, on my last post before i left UK, i talked about a review of this player and problems i had encountered.

Since then, i have sent back my player for a replacement as my touch screen did not function after some very detail testing.

I got a replacement to continue my testing of this player, and like all other clones, there are some good and some bad points.

Before i begin whats happened since, i like to inform the forum of the seller who sold me this. On ebay the name is good-day-up. which is Tinydeal people. He also asked me to pay 18 dollars for delivery on my replacement, what a ^$^ cheek.

Ok, now my results update.

Radio shuts off in 5 mins, voice record and FM record also shuts off in about 3 mins.

You can play mp3 without problems, i played whole albums, single tracks and they work without problems So it plays mp3. :)

Plays video clips that are provided without problems, but i will transfer a full movie onto this player to see if i can watch a whole movie and not a 3 minute music, or film trailer as on the player.

Photo viewing has no issues :D .

E-book is really a txt file and i will see if it can read other formats like pdf and will provide on my next update.

Explorer works fine, other functions, ie stopwatch, game works ok, not that i want them.

settings are ok.

Apart from the radio and recording, all seems well for a rip off, cheap, cheerful and looks good on the outside, but pretty much rubbish inside.

I have over 8 gig of audio on the player, i will see how much i can put on this player and if it wipes anything if i use all 16 gig. I will also test microSD card to see how much it can take and determine just how good storage stands up in the player.

So, yes i have complaints, i like all my functions to work, but not all do, ie radio and voice recording without auto shut off in 5 mins.

Bottom line is if you just want a mp3 player cheap, then that's good enough if it really can hold 16 gig plus SD expansion.

Finally, the firmware part, i emailed this person for advice to see if there was any firmware updates to fix the radio and voice recording problem. His or her reply was i quote "Maybe you could find one to fix it
any question please contact us
thank you"

These guys don't know English, they don't know customer support, they just are not interested.

I replied back  with "I am asking you if there is a firmware fix for radio problem?
How do i find one, you have not direct me to any link? can you help me fix problem or not?
If not then you have sold me a product that does not do what you say. My radio do not work for long before it shut down.

Do you wish me to make a formal complaint to Ebay?"

A 5 year old Chinese child can understand my first question, let alone an adult :P and my replay above was as basic as basics in child language and this was the response "we are sorry we have not the software for this item"

So if any of you out there are tearing your hair out trying to get an answer, just talk to them like a child and you will get results.

Until i next update, the conclusion is, i don't think there is a firmware update and the function for it, is a gimmick just to make it look good.

I like to be proven wrong, so if i can't find one, they don't have one, everybody else is looking for one, then it would be found by now.

Cheers, happy searching!! :D

well tinydeal sell cheap ass player no doubt but they will never be supported, i have written this so many times about unbranded player i think i will get it tatooed on my back :)

tinydeal for me were OK, fast on delivery but a defective product, i knoew it would be rubbish and i only bought it to see how rubbish they were - really bad.

so i knew what i was getting into, they know little about players, they get then cheap from wherever thay can, even the same player that look the same are from different factories so they are essentially different

buy from tinydeal but understand what you get, unbranded cheap made players that are essentia;;y the bottom of the player barrel and watch the specs where is says"firmware updates" as this is standard text copied and pasted, it means squat

thanks for the update and hope you lushing it up down there in OZ

Re: TA5-16R update news

Ok, maybe i did sound harsh about tinydeal, but hey if anyone reading this, you would understand the frustration when your product does not function as it should. :(

I can only express my experience as i probably am one of a very few who got a 16 gig player, where most people are quite content with maybe, 2,4 or 8 gig players that has no problems. :?

So, as i said, not a huge problem, but i am doing a very detail testing, so i can review it for others who are thinking of getting one of these players. :D

I am sure tinydeal are not at fault, but hey, if you return for a replacement, you don't expect to be asked to pay more money right? :x

Hope when people do start getting bad experience from tinydeal they will
remember i started it off ha ha ha and told you so :)

Lets all be happy and enjoy our products if you just want it to play music. Otherwise like myself, feel free to complain like i did so everyone know.

Lets party! :P
