Default Problems with unknown MP3/MP4 player

Alright. First off let me link you all to the sites that give you as much info as I can find. I bought it off ebay, so the first link is the ebay link.
Ebay Listing for MP3/MP4 player
The next listing is for the Amazon.com listing I found that is pretty much the exact same MP3/MP4 player (I'm sure it's the same player). It gives a serial number.
Amazon.com listing for MP3/MP4 player.

Now, I describe the problem. Once I got the player home the first thing I did was hook it up to my computer. I was running Windows Media Player 11 (I use Windows XP Pro SP3). It tryed to sync up with it. I hit cancel, I do my own manuall syncing when I can. So I copied over some music, a movie (The Unusuall Suspects) and a few eBooks (Txt files). I disconected and used it like that for a day. After that I began to search around the player. Looking at the settings, didn't change anything. I noticed the update option. Okay, always a good idea to make sure I have the latest firmware. So what did I do? You got it boys and girls, I tried to update. Windows said that it was having trouble with the device, that it was unrecogized. Keep in mind there hasn't been a problem like that since, or prior. So I disconected and I rebooted the player, soft reset. When I tried to turn it back on it said on the screen "System Int..." and stayed like that for a few seconds, about 15. After that it started normally but I noticed that all my files were gone. That was expected as it was a massive update. When I hooked it back up to my computer it says it was now a 2 gig player. So half my storage is gone. I tried holding the reset button, not the power button, down for 10 seconds. Some players will do a full restore to the original settings and firmware if you do that, and turned it back on. Nothing. So here I am, with a once awesome 4 gig player, and now I have a 2 gig, not so awesome player. I really could use any and all info about this thing as possible. I've tried tech support but thier in Hong Kong and are about as helpfull as scuba gear in the Sahara. I'm hoping this community will be a bit more helpfull. I know someone is going to ask about the CD that came with the player. It was destroyed durring shipment. I told the company that and they just sent me a PDF version of the hardcopy manual that I got with the player. Next they send me the driver file. I repeatedly asked for a CD image of the CD they tried to send. I even asked for the files that were for my player. Scuba gear, Sahara. Nuff said. So any help would be grealy appreciated. Thanks.
