Identification of my MP4 player
There are on my recently aquired MP4 player to main chips...the one that matters is probably the first one that I think is the one that contains the firmware and it says:
CHIP #1: ALI M7101C A1 0742 TL07 XKSP268431GA CHIP #2: 0828 I-2 29F8G08MAD WC D I'm completly newbie on this matter...I've searched the forum and I appologise if this is already a subject that was talked about on it....but I've searched the gallery and this MP4 isn't there...so I assume that this is a recent/new player.... I would like to know (if you guys can identify it) wich software may I use to backup the firmware for trying to do cool stuff like adding another game than the one that came with the player (game named "Gobang") and perhaps changing the apearence/theme of the MP4 without loosing functionality...this probably is the doubts of every newbie in this forum...You can talk tech with me that I am on an Electronics engeneering degree...The problem is not to know tech stuff...is to know compatible software and stuff like that...first of all I would like to know the name of wich program may I use to backup the firmware in case I kill the player... So tell me wich software may I use to mess around with the flash that contains the firmware...without killing the player... Once again if the matter is already talked about on the forum I'm really sorry just post a link to where it is that I'll gladly read it.. THaks for your time and attention! Adrenaline |
Re: Identification of my MP4 player
You have a very rare and mostly undocumented player. I know someone else on this board also has a M7101-based device too.
Thus, you won't be able to do much with it. It's also a very low-capability SoC, being 8051-based. I know ALi ISP MPTool can read the flash, so you should be able to get a backup of it. This is probably the most detailed write-up regarding these devices: http://mp3player.wolfnexus.net/loadingfw.html If you're looking for a more "open" device, get an Actions ATJ209x/AK102x-based player. There is plenty of information on those at s1mp3.org |

Re: Identification of my MP4 player
Use M566xISP. There are several Read buttons and a "Save PM" button which should be what you need.

Re: Identification of my MP4 player
..Thanks I'll try that...I haven't had all the time in the world for messing around with this...my problem was that I didin't had the M566xISP software because in the link you gave me it downloaded a file (wich was not the prgram...if anybody trys will see that it downloads a "why.zip" file wich basically cobtains a text file saying that M566xISP isn't available)...I found that software in the link that I provide bellow (just to help anybody who needs that software....now I don't have time to do anything with my MP4 because I have a paper to deliver but if I manage to do anything out of it later I'll let you guys know...
