Empty File! -- help please

Help please. I have had my mp3/mp4 player for a week now, and it has been playing well. I had downloaded music to it from my PC (CD's I had on file), all was well. Today I hooked it up to my PC again, downloaded some more music, disconnected from my PC, and accessed the Music file on the player, and the screen came up with "Empty disk!". Huh? No music showing at all.
I checked other operations -- the radio in it still works OK, settings are OK, Picture file is there but the pictures don"t show on the screen. And Music shows "Empty file!"
So I connected to my PC again, accessed the Player at "Removeable Drive J", and my PC shows all of the music I had downloaded to it as being there, and the Pictures also.
I can't tell you what make, model etc it is (don't know how to find out), but I bought it on Ebay, you can see it on
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123.
It seems that I can't upload a photo of my player direct from my PC, this forum won't allow it.
Accessing the firmware (what's that??) from Settings shows 2008/08/05 9.5.54 ACT20256_V52 2008/07/10

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

have you formatted the players flash drive yet? You probably have a hacked player showing the wrong capacity. Search the forums here for how to remove the capacity hack and see the REAL capacity of your player. It usually end up being between half and an eighth of what was advertised.
