I recently bought this player and it is the first one, so far, that I have been unable to repair.

If anyone knows of any low level format software that would be compatible it would be great. Thanks.

MP3 Utilities Disk Tool will not detect it properly but lists the capacity as 3702MB (weird number).

Open it up and read the board ID, this is a somewhat strange player as most ping guo si dai are Actions-based. Posting pictures would also be good.

I have a lot of trouble opening these type of players up without breaking them. I take the bottom two screws out and when I push on the board to try to get it out of the shell the thing does not budge. I fear that if I push it any harder it will break.

Post an actual picture and not a modified iPod rendering, then we can see how it's put together.

Usually the display cover is attached to the inner frame via adhesive and that has to be pried off before the inner assembly slides out, like so:
