I don't know if anyone else has this issue also but my settings will reset after turning the player off and on again. So when I set the backlight option to "Off" it will be back on the default 10s when I turn it back on. Can anyone confirm?

Oh and I'd appreciate any suggestions for updating the player to it's true size.

How are you turning off your player? Are you using the switch or just pressing and holding down on the [Play] button? If you hold down on the [Play] button, it should do a 'soft' shutdown, which should preserve your settings. However, if you use the [On/Off] switch, it will most likely loose the settings. Try that and see if that helps.

That did it. I had to hold down the "M" button and it went into Sleep Mode/Standby and after that I could turn off the switch without losing the settings. Although it seems that the time stops running as well when the player is turned off with the switch.

I think the buttons are messed up though because the "M" button seems to act as the play/confirm button in every option. And the play button acts as a menu/option button.
The order of the buttons on my player are: return - previous - next- M - volume - play.
Unfortunately the buttons are paired so I can't change the order without messing up any other buttons.

Unfortunately, it is. However, you should still be able to get USB VID and PID by plugging the player in and using a suitable USB diagnostic program, or simply looking in the registry (search the Internet, it will explain the procedure in full detail.)

I got the player and it is actualy quite nice. It even played avi movie without converting. I opened it up (will post pictures later) but i can hardly read what is written on the chip. I dont see samsung written on it like ive seen on pictures on this site and i can only make out faintly TH(53)NV(G5)

Im not even sure about the things I put between brackets. Do you guys know a site where the different chips are listed so i could still find a match with the partial stuff i could read? Thanks in advance!

I have done some searching and it would appear I might be one of the lucky ones with a real 32 Gb It would seem it is nog a samsung chip at all but a toshiba chip. A 32Gb toshiba chip has this code: TH58NVG5S2EBA20 I guess i will have to put some more data on it to be sure!

Sorry for the tripple post but I have troubles with turning the player off and on. When i connect it to the pc it turns on automaticcally. When its on holding the M button shuts it down. However when it is off and i switch it to on nothing happens. Also holding the M button while the switch is on ON doesnt turn the player on. Anyone else having this problem or knows how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

You know that 32Gb (small b) means gigaBIT right? So unfortunately yours also seems to be a 4GB player.

To turn it back on after shutting it down with the M button I used the play button to turn it back on.
Make sure the player is properly charged though because mine acted a little funny with turning on/off when I got it as well.
After charging it overnight it was okay.

Right, wel that is some bad news I was all excited it was a real one and turns out it is fake afterall Guess I will have to contact the seller

I found pushing M twice instead of holding it turns the player on aswell.

When connecting it to the pc and chosing the third option, charging through USB the player turns of after a while. I was wondering if it then still keeps charging? I would guess yes but i would like to be sure. How long does the player need to be charged?

I don't really know how long it takes. I left it overnight so I also don't know if the screen went blank.

I found the information from my player. It turns out it is an Actions player after all but the product type might be incorrect as it shows that it's 2GB and it is definitely 4GB.
