Default Which low level format software? Full details. 4gb hacked to show 32gb.

I need some advice on what software I need to use to remove the memory hack on this device so that it will show its true capacity of 4GB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The unit arrived today and it was sold to me as a 32gb player for $27.

It is actually quite a nice player. Solid design and it plays AVI format which is nice. It even has a stopwatch and calculator. heh

I opened it and found the memory chip to be a Samsung K9LBG08UOM which is 4GB.

Those pictures are too blurry to be useful but I do see an Actions logo... and what looks to be some SDRAM? This seems to be one of the Series-11 Rockchip-competitors, of which there is currently little information available on. You can try partition resizing software to resize the main partition to the correct size (slightly less than 4GB is recommended, e.g. 3970M)

What partitioning program do you recommend?

Partition Magic cannot see USB Media.

I also tried Swiss Knife but I get an error upon loading. I did a little reading and apparently Swiss Knife is not compatible with Windows XP.

Sorry about the photos but my camera will not give detailed closeups. I must have taken 20 shots and then picked the best ones.

Thanks.

gparted should work for this. Also, set your camera to Macro mode or just don't get too close to the subject.

I am still learning.

Gparted is for Linux?

I am running XP. My Xp doesn't recognise any of the Gparted files.

Are there any other partition programs that can see a USB drive?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have the exact same Rizone player and I also want to resize it to 4GB. I couldn't get that done with MP3 Player Utilities 4.05 as described on this site.
The firmware in the payer reads 10 19_090312_150_4M_8x
What kind of player is it and how do I resize the memory?

Hi, it does seem like a nice player apart from the hack. Have you tried it with an sd card to see if you could extend the memory?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
