Default Is there a firmware update & how to backup firmware?

I am new to this forum and having just bought a mp4/mp3 player from ebay ( wrong i know )
the firmware version is LSD_91N18V_A1
date 2007 - 08 -04
9.1.52
2005 -01 - 09.

I looked inside the chip had hynix k08 and hy27u v08 8g5a on it.

Can anyone please tell me any info on this and if there is a firmware update and how to backup the firmware. Thanks

You have a Hynix 8Gbit (1GByte) NAND flash, and looking at the FW version probably AK1025 controller. Use s1res v4.1 to extract the firmware. There are no updates available, the firmware is designed for your player's hardware and trying any other firmware will likely not work and result in unusable device. If you're able to find the board ID and CPU as well, upload the extracted firmware to help others with the same hardware.

:: S1MP3.de - S1 MP3 Player Firmware Tools - Download

Get s1res 4.1 from there. Extract the firmware and keep it for backup.

Yes, you have fake memory size, following the PROCEDURE OF REMOVE MEMORY HACK thread should set it back correctly.
