Unable to play majority of music transferred to player

The original problems were all the files were going corrupt or crazy duplications and moves were happening. I formatted the MP4 player with FAT32 - both quick and thorough. So far no problems with the corruptions but still can't play almost none of my music (mp3).

I downloaded the utilities as suggested here in the forum - the About screen says I have Media Manager Version (c) 2007 Actions (it does not say the actual number but the download file suggested 10.00). I tried dragging and dropping and synchronizing - and neither one had any impact on being able to play them on the player.

I am unable to play the majority of music transferred over - I see the title, artist, number, etc...but the play button has a black square over a green circle button, instead of a gray arrow over a green circle button. When I try to play the song - I get a nearly blank screen (blue) with a black rectangle (looks like it ought to contain text or something but doesn't) and then returned to play screen. I can forward through the songs, etc...but not play them.

Help?

Can you play anything else like photos and videos on your playerok? Or do you get the same problem?

How many GB's is your player?
One other thing you can try is formatting it as FAT instead but that only has a limit of 2GB. If that doesn't work then try formatting in NTFS instead and see if that makes any difference.....

Let us know of the result.

It's 16GB - I have not tried the NTFS yet but I have tried a number of different ways to format it FAT32 (not sure how I would format it FAT? I assume you mean FAT16 but even then with Windows XP or Vista...).

I could have sworn that when I originally posted this I had used the firmware and model number as the subject line. But here it is:
Firmware : 2008/09/05 9.5.54

If you say a 16GB player, that there's a good chance it's probably been HACKED.
Try following the steps in this post here to unhack your player: http://mympx.org/forum/support-how/3...mory-hack.html.

Let us know if that helps.
