can someone please tell me if loading new firmware on this fixes the problem of it thinking its 32Gb

No, loading a firmware won't resolve it.
It's best to follow the guides on this site on how to remove the hacked memory from a player. There has recently been a lot of posts on the hacked Rizone players as well.
