[Tut] hwo to remove memory-hack on Rockchip Mp4-players.
I just found out, how to remove the memory-hack on my rockchip (fake-)32-gb-touchscreen-player.
i used hw2test to find out, that 1,7 GB are writeable, so the real size should be 2 gb. I once played around with formatting and low-level-formats at my old xp-pc. and when i plugged my device back on my windows.7 pc, it showed 1.7gb (the real size). I didn't know how it worked at first and re-formatted, so it came back to 32gb. Now i did some experiments at windows 7 and they worked: This is, how to check the real size of the player! : (use with caution) i formatted the player to NTFS with larged available cluster-size (it was 64kb) and after that i disconnected the player from the pc, did a reset and viola! in windows and on the player itself, it revealed the real size. (and went automatically back to FAT32 and created all folders itself. So in short: Make hw2test to find out real size. (may not be needed) Format to NTFS using 64k cluster-size) Disconnect and reset. |

Hi Satani,
I also have a faked 32GB Touch screen MP4 similar to the attached picture below. I would like to give it a try to remove the faked memory capacity back to real 4 GB (I guess). I would like to check with you first before trying. Did you completed the ntfs formatting under Windows 7? I don't have the Windows 7. Will Xp pro does the job? How much real memory capacity do you have after this reset? Did you check the flash memory part# to confirm? If you have 2GB it seems low? Because my player have a built in 4GB flash chip. Do you need to reload all the system files back to the player after resetting the memory? Thanks in advance! |
i did it on win xp and win7. just format to ntfs, then the internal secure will reveal the raal size
