How correctly format hacked memory?
Hi everybody, I just recently got a fake 16gb 4g ipod nano off ebay having not heard of hacked memory. Messed around with it for a couple weeks confused at the format errors and strange automatic file duplications going on in the drive when connected to the computer, also all the missing music when actually turned on. Finally after a bunch of reaserch today I ran it through the program h2testw and realized I only have around 3.8gb of actual memory. Sucks, but since it works and it was cheap 4gb should be fine. I just need to know how I can format it down to the 4gb it actually is so I can avoid format errors and just general annoyance. The strange thing is I also run it though the program Chipgenius hoping to figure out what chip is actually in it in order to do that and only get:
Device Name: +[F:](ACTIONS HS USB FlashDisk USB Device)
PnP Device ID: VID = 1106 PID = 3038
Serial Number: 5&&1912980D&&0&&0008F0
Revision: /2.00
Device Type: Generic USB Host Controller - USB2.0 Full-Speed (USB1.1)
Chip Vendor: VIA(??)
Chip Part-Number: VT8235/VT8237(??)
Product Vendor: VIA(??)
Product Model: USB Host Controller(USB?????)
Tools on Web: (N/A)
Can anybody tell me anything about this?
Thanks
