[solved] Ak2025 nano dead without upgrading! Need help please!

Board: QS20K21_B-KEY V0.3
Firmware 9.5.54
Memory: SAMSUNG 901 K9GAG08UOM PCB0 CAK074AC
Chip: ak2025 SA40LBA 0GA
Accumulator: FT382028P 170mAh 3.7v

Memory was faked to 15,9GB; Actually only 1,88GB

I put a small video (about 50MB) on it after the copying ended I heard that the hardware was disconnected. Now I got the mini-USB-Plug out of the player and pluged it again in. There came a new information buble: "New Hardware found" then it was installed as "Unknown Device". After that I went to the Device Manager und tried to update it to the ADFUupdate.inf, because I thought the player is dead. But there came an error so the driver wasn't accepted. (I tried on Windows Vista HomePremium x64 and Windows XP Home (32 Bit)). I already wrote a "Paypal Dispute" against the seller but I also want to get the Player to use. I tried to short-circuit some contacts of the memory block but I don't understand where I can see the result because nothing happens or changes.

Later I will make some photos of the Player. It is an Nano clone from this auction: New 16GB 1.8" 4th Gen MP3 MP4 FM USB Player Video Rec B

I please you to help me! I don't know how to repair it :( . That player should become a gift but now it's only worth some trash.

I suggest you contact the seller and send it back. It will be very hard to get that player back to working order.

:( I thank you for your reply but it's too expensive to send it back to Hong Kong (from Germany) and I already got the money back. I just hoped that here are people who know how to recover this player.

I'm going to buy a new one. Could you suggest any one?

I have the same one and posted my disk error problems here: http://mympx.org/forum/general-discu...isk-error.html

Do some research on the player and the true price of memory before you buy another player that will save you a lot of time frustration so you can avoid this again. Also keep this in mind you get what you pay for.

Try to contact your seller and ask for a valid firmware for your player. If your have success please upload the firmware later. Sometimes you must edit the file adfu.ini (VID and PID) to make the player compatible with the ADFU driver and upload the firmware.

Thank you for your reply. I already got my money back so I don't think that he is going to support me. And he is only a reseller so it's hardly probable that he got the firmware.:(

As for getting what we pay for....well, experience is a hard teacher but some people (myself included) learn no other way. For the part about research...I'm sure this experience has taught us ALL a lesson about that.

your mp3 is very similar to mine...maybe you have same problem...

your mp3 is on adfu mode...When you use the adfu.inf that comes in windows....your mp3 is not recognised...the devices is
USB\VID_10D6&PID_FF76\5&2E64F456&0&3 for AK2025...you can edit the adfuupdate.inf...and add this device..
or you can download the mp3 tool 5.3 that comes with a driver for ak2025. When your pc is on adfu mode you can try to
replace the firmware...maybe thats your problem...your firmware is corrupted...If your mp3 comes with the firmware
is very easy to try to restore your mp3...If you don t have the firmware...you can go to

http://bbs.mydigit.cn/read.php?tid=127829

in this site you can download ak2025...firmwares....

I try to update my firmware with 5.3 version and these firmware but I got error and the program exit...So you can try
...may be your are lucky...

Hi..searching for a way to revive a dead AK2025 Nano lookalike got me here.

I have gone over the few threads here and tried the metal tweezers thinggi but the screen still stays on that hourglass. Plugging into a PC got me an unknown device. I tried to use the ADFU driver but it does not recognize the device. What's short of putting it in the bin?

Thanks.
