Glad I could help. I hope it helps others as well. I wish folks like yuanhuaii could get shut down. It is a shame that ebay is enabling people to sell fakes and frauds.

I emailed the yuanhuaii regarding the fake mp3 he sold me and he said that the memory must be broken. He said that I should ship it back. I believe that I will sign the petition and hold my ground. I am not shipping the piece of crap back. I see that he is not currently selling MP3 players under his the name yuanhuaii so he must have created another name to sell these under. Watch out for the players that I have listed as seller may be using another name now!

terceslil, you saved my player! One thing I don't know if you have experimented with....The "fake" drive of approximately 6gb can be formatted the same way. Set the player to Multi drive on the online settings, and do the same thing for the fake drive as you did for the real drive. This has given me an mp3/video/FM player with an extra USB storage drive. I haven't filled it to capacity...I'm only using about 300mb of it, actually..so I don't know if the full 6gb will work or not, but it works so far!

I agree with you : Why not just sell them for what they are? It's a good deal for a 2gb player! Herm UPDATE : About ten miutes after posting the above things, I went into the extra drive to store some photographs. As soon as I created a folder, it filled it with symbols and copies of the movie and albums I'd placed on it. I am about to try to repartition the player again...backing up my stuff as I type...and see if I can gain that extra 500 or so mb of space on my mp3 player. No storage volume after all, but hey, it was still a pretty good price for a 2gb chipod, too. I only paid about $21. UPDATE ON UPDATE : I repartitioned it again, but I didn't gain an extra 500mb, as I'd hoped. I gained a little, though. After experimenting with various numbers, I set the slider on the Partition tab to 6010, and it formatted my mp3 player to 1909mb with no storage drive now. Just wanted to let you know! H |
My seller was on that list, too. 83 negatives in just the past month! Whew! I left positive before I found out about the memory hack. I'd leave neutral now, I think...not bad because I enjoy the chipod, even though it wasn't as promised.
