File read (file format) error!
I have an AK3631 based player with 4G of memory (yes, really, I opened it up and checked). It was never hacked - got it straight from tinydeal.com and it worked right out of the box.
There is a block of memory somewhere in the 3.2G area which is bad. Files copied to that area get corrupted - that is movies will stop playing at exactly the same spot each time with "File Format Error". Using DOS copy /v will report an error.
At the moment I've "solved" the problem by putting a 1Mbyte MP3 file in the ebook directory that happens to include that bad block - but really I'd like to map it out properly like most hard-disks do. How do I do this?
I tried chkdsk /r but it didn't even find it? Should I re-format the filesystem?
cheers!
