How do you use iTunes with a non Apple MP3/MP4 player?

I purchased a 16 gig MP4 off eBay, i should get it in about a month, but i'm curious. I use iTunes for my songs, and I would like to continue to use it. I see websites with programs that allow you to use iTunes with players like this, but I would like to hear what you guys recommend. Thank you very much. -John

awesome! thank you very much. i saw a related video from pc world, and i downloaded a program called itunes sync. i did not use it yet, but it should work well. thanks
