Default AK2025 player completely dead

I got a fake 16GB iPod clone that has worked fine as a 2GB player after reformating it in Linux.
But it suddenly it died while charging. I opened it up and fiddled with the memory chip to reset it and it came back to life with its firmware and memory contents intact (so it didn't empty the memory as it should have done). I was happy and started to reassemble the player but I managed to break off the reset button on the top of it. After that it's completely dead. Nothing happens when I connect it to PC, the computer won't recognize it nor will the player charge or anything.
Is there still some hope?

I don't have a camera to post pictures, but user son1x has the same model so I'll use his pictures:

Soldering won't help as I broke off the little plastic switch inside the silver box. The one that moves to left and right.
What would happen when I desoldered the whole switch? I wouldn't have a reset switch then but I could live with that.

LOL i did this once all you need to do is get your girl friends nail glue or super glue/w.e glue and get a fake nail and cut it up in a small rectangle or what ever the switch looked like ,and glue it on this works for a tooth pick too

i once had a ipod mini that got run over, it still worked fine, but was stuck in the lock position. grab a pin, and do your best to slide the switch. once you slide it, the player should operate normally again. another thing you could do is unsolder the broken switch and use some wire to connect the solder pads for when the switch is in the "off position", or when its "unlocked". it will be forever unlck, but you did say you could live with it.
