Why my player always disconnects when it try to extract firmware?

Ihave a Rockchip RK27xx player. I tried to extract firmware with s1fwx V3.3, when it is starting to search for devices, my player disconnects! I want to extract firmware, modify it (change backgrund pictures, etc), and upload it back. Maybe there are some other programs, which will work on my player?

I tried this metod too, it works, i can access to my firmware, but i can't edit it with s1res. None of files, that i can access now doesn't work. s1res shows error: Data of this type is not supported. What program do I need for firmware editing?
