Extract firmware for tape mp3 player

Hey guys,

I purchased this neat mp3 player from deal extreme:
http://www1.dealextreme.com/producti...ku_10203_1.jpg
DealExtreme: $15.67 Cassette Adapter MP3 Player for Cars (Reads SD/MMC)

I tried using s1fwx, but couldn't extract firmware from this device.
It's an mp3 player that has no internal memory and reads the music from an sd card you insert into it.
The only reason I want to extract the firmware is so I can make an edit to it's functionality. Everytime you turn it off it forgets the last track it was playing and starts playing the first one again. This can get extremely annoyoing if you have a lot of songs on there and you want to resume playing from the middle of the playlist..etc...

I took a picture of the internals, looks like there are two tiny chips on the mobo.
The top left one reads:
LD2088
P6CT5-010
F-0946

bottom chip says:
winbond
25X80AVS4G
0947

the mobo says:
T12600 V:3

So anyone can tell me how to extract this firmware so I can make the changes to the firmware and then put it back?
When I used to have a rockchip mp3 player I remember there was some kind of trick to see the hidden file in Windows.. can someone reiterate this to me, I forgot it.

P.S. : the player has a mini usb port and when you plug it in without card and double click on it it asks for you to put in device. When the sd card is in, it will simply pull up the music on the sd card.

THANKS for any help! :)

hmm looks like the top one is an actual chip maybe?
LD2088 upgrade tool FirmwareTool_1.0-DOWNLOAD-Mp3 MP4 Player Firmware Downloads Base!

and the bottom chip is actually flash memory? i'd think this is where the FW would be
W25X80AVDAIZ datasheet pdf datenblatt - Winbond - 1M-BIT, 2M-BIT, 4M-BIT AND 8M-BIT SERIAL FLASH MEMORY WITH 4KB SECTORS AND DUAL OUTPUT SPI ::: ALLDATASHEET :::

this is kind of advanced for me...i need your help :)

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but did anyone ever figure out how to upgrade the firmware for this player? I purchased one as well and would love to improve the functionality. Some sort of folder navigation and a shuffle playback mode would be great.
