How to extract the firmware

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, my mp5 player is still new and working, but due to my bad experience with my old mp3 player, I'd like to know how to extract the firmware in case of any future failures. My PC (Vista) recognizes the player as a Rockchip USBDisk. The system information I see is: Major version ID 1.1 and Firmware date is 090518.
It's 4,3" and 8Gb if it matters.
Thanks in advance ;)

After using 2 programs which I found in the forum the results are: Look at the 3 attached images. Can I still try the program you offered me KNOB or not? Thanks!

yes. in spite of what chip genius shows you player looks like a rk27xx series, try the rkusb.tag method.
good luck!

But "Chip Part-Number: RK2608" !

I think that this method will not work.
But you can try : in this case it's not dangerous for your player,
just a small, useless (for you) file.
