Default Identifiying my player and a firmware update

Hi everyone, glad I found this site over google, here's a great community!

I've a newbie question, hope you can help.

I recently bought this player over ebay:
Click the image to open in full size.

same product from different seller is listed here
screens are mirrored here, and here in case ebay item is deleted:

What my problem is, I cannot identify my player, and I want to update it.

There's a sample video within it (some natural stuff and animals, 复件 精彩视频_1.avi), and a sample mp3 song (tamas wells - valder fields)

Info page gives me these info:
player's name: media player
version: 1018_090212_dev_tp_CM_OV_S

If anyone owns this, or has any info about this, can any of you inform me please
Thanks again,
Regards,

Default hey I got one of those

Hey Soulsmasher, I bought one of those from Ebay. Mine looks like your photo,
what happened with mine is I spilled coffee on it and the battery doesn't work anymore
so I ordered some Li-on batteries and am waiting for them. I'm guessing the coffee fully
discharged the Li-on and now it won't charge ever.

Anyway, it was ok the one weekend I used it, and you scared me with the 2Gb hacked thing
but I have over 2Gb of video on it so it has over 2Gb (hopefully 16!) even though it won't play
most of the videos. I did find a converter though and a program that recognises it
(Rockwell chip) for video conversion.

However I've consigned it to experimental gadget status because of the battery issue and because I
bought a similarly cheap and crappy 4.3 inch one which has amazingly badly designed interface
- can't drag the progress bar on a mp3 or video - ouch. Also this one was kind of dim so only use it
in fairly dark. Also have to hold it a foot or so in front of your face to get best viewing. However it
was better than nothing that weekend stuck in the hotel room.

Let me know more about yours please.

Hey,

MP3 files were uploading, but not were playing correctly, so i was suspicious, and thanks to this thread, I did check the player's real memory with h2testw.exe given here and turns our it's 1,7 GB. I opened a case on paypal for a full refund, and the seller wants the item back. So i'll send it tomorrow. You should check it also.
