Sorry for the late reply, have been unwell.
Formatted and made new folders, and now the pics that are clicked can be viewed. 
I guess somewhere along the way folders and sample files got deleted. So no sample pics, but will have to check many pics to see size, etc. Though the resolution of the pics that the player calls "exceptional file", are low res and file size is small. So can't think what the problem could be....
